In Cusco, even the pets march in the desfile. 🐹

Every June during Inti Raymi, the whole city celebrates — schools, universities, centros de trabajo, families, and yes… the mascotas too, dressed in their little Andean trajes alongside their owners. And this cuy? He’s fully dressed, fully over it, and has something to say: “Noo me hables huevadass.”

No bad intentions. That’s just June in Cusco. When the fiesta energy is so high, words just fly out. Pure celebration, zero filter. 🎉

After the desfile comes the real feast — Cusco’s version of Thanksgiving. Cuy al horno, hen, tortilla de maíz (Peruvian corn style — not Mexican, very different!), cheese, huevera, yuyo… the whole family around the table. Pure festivity. Pure home.

And yes — I used to eat cuy at this feast every year. But after designing this little guy in his sweater, marching proudly in the parade… I can’t do it anymore. He’s too cute. The cuy won. 😂
